Global Water Watch (GWW) continues to encourage interest at starting a CBWM project in China. In 2002 GWW traveled to China at the invitation of the HPI/China program. The Country Director had previously attended meetings and training workshops in Thailand and the Philippines to become acquainted with the approach and benefits to local communities. The local government expressed their support for the CBWM project because of their interest in watershed management, reforestation and flood control.
